The Newport Police Department is committed to providing professional service to all residents of our city.

You may file your praise/complaint by telephone 401-845-5778, in writing via mail to the above address, or via facsimile to 401-846-3284. You may file a complaint in writing by completing the attached Citizens Complaint Form.

Your written complaint form should include as much information as possible: Your name, address, telephone number; the subject of your praise/comlaint with the employees name, rank, badge number (if known); the location, date, and time of the alleged incident; the nature of your complaint/praise, with all pertinent information; along with the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of any witnesses to your incident.
